An Ideology That Incites People to Fight Each Other

About eight years ago, Alice, the daughter of one of my past students, visited us. I knew in advance that she was applying for Harvard and had top grades. I thought her visit was for announcing the good news, so when met her, I immediately said: “Congratulations. Now you are alumni with the President and the First Lady of the United States!”

Unexpectedly, she immediately rushed into my arms and screamed. After catching her breath, she shouted: “Can I compare with them? They got special care when they entered Harvard. They didn’t need to get excellent grades like me. I’ve done so well, but…”

It took more than half an hour before I convinced her to calm down. Before leaving, I told her: “You will tell no one about what you said when you walked in today.”

“Why?”

“Don’t make trouble for your parents. If something happens, they won’t be able to afford legal fees.”

“If you were a lawyer, we would hire you.” She finally smiled.

“It’s a pity that I lost an opportunity to make money. You should have told me before I went to graduate school!” I laughed too.

” You are so bad, grandpa!” She laughed and gave me a big hug.

I lost my smile after Alice left. I was not sure when the distorted values could further harm her, but sure they would. This was not the first time I knew similar stories, and not the last one either. Asian Americans have a strong sense of family and attach the greatest importance to youth education. These two characteristics are obviously important stabilizing factors for human civilization. Most of my young friends are well educated, so that their kids like Alice have better condition than most Asian Americans. There are some poor communities in several large cities in the United States. Many new Asian immigrants do not even speak English. But they work very hard to help their children to be top students not only in STEM but also in English. Ironically, not only Harvard but a few other universities, even state legislatures, dislike talented students who work hard. They established a hierarchy among ethnic minorities. Asian Americans at lower levels do not have the privileges of top-level minorities, and their children like Alice have to face higher bar while going to university. Asian Americans do not seem to accuse “systemic racism” because of the unfairness. Why would some policy makers create obstacles for these lovely young people who follow the principles of American freedom and study hard?

The experience of young Asians like Alice reveals a special aspect of an extremely serious problem. This shows how Critical Race Theory (CRT) has been quietly spreading in the United States. It has invaded our K-12 schools, universities, government agencies and every corner of society. More sadly, it has even invaded the American army. Its infection in our school is so distressing that young children are being hard-wired to distrust each other, hate each other and even hate themselves. CRT is usually invisible, and many of the public does not even know it, so it is more dangerous. The ridiculous “1619 Project” mendaciously claims that our founding fathers originally established the United States to institutionalize oppressive black slavery. The project unreasonably accuses white men of being the main oppressive class with privileges, white supremacists. They claim out of nothing that someone systematically rooted racism in the history and political system of the United States and is the root cause of the unrest in American society today. They are attacking the values we have shared for 245 years and are trying to abolish the U.S. Constitution and legal system and divide our great country. As Antifa and BLM continue to create riots on the streets, CRT is now everywhere.

CRT is an ideology that creates racism where there is no racism. This is an excellent way for the American radical left to control society. Judging from the history of the development of Marxism, CRT is clearly the racial version of the theory of class struggle. For more than a century, communism has seized power through armed violence based on the theory of class struggle in the Soviet Union and China. In Western Europe and North America, they have continued to promote peaceful evolution through CRT and identity politics for a long time.

The means of Marxism to infringe on human dignity starts with the unequal division of people and ends with unequal treatment. People cannot choose their own class origin and cannot choose the color of their skin. Communists with ulterior motives intentionally classify people based on what they cannot choose. In communist China and the former Soviet Union, they distinguished people based on their class origin. Today’s American radical leftists are trying to distinguish between high and low based on the color of people’s skin.

What do they want? Yuluoke had long questioned: “The reactionary pedigree theory gave birth to a new privileged class. This is a reactionary caste system, a new oppression between people.” Today, advocates of 1619 project & CRT are trying to subvert Martin Luther King’s dream using their new racism. What do they want? If you obey them, what kind of new privileged class will appear?
