History has proven that same cultural DNA exists between CRT and the CCP. Communism has been dividing off people groups that used to be same and provoking them fight each other for more than a century. In the Soviet Union and China, they had a theory of class struggle and seized power through armed violence. In Western Europe and North America, they promoted the peaceful evolution via CRT and identity politics.
The similar prelude
Before and in the early days of seizing power, they have similar behavior patterns. In communist China they issued the campaign of eliminating Four Olds and there is the cancel culture in today’s America. The campaign of eliminating old ideas, old culture, old customs, and old habits started long ago but fully systematized in early Cultural Revolution. I extract its major manifestations from the first two chapters of this book and list twelve key points here. Readers would surely distinguish and verify many similar events happened in the United States, which have enhanced since last year.
- Demolition of historical monuments and statues, destruction of cultural relics and sites.
- Burning of books, of calligraphy and painting.
- Enforced change of the names of people, streets, institutions, cities and ports.
- Enforced changes of customs and habits.
- Whistleblowing culture in society and even among family members.
- Censor and deprive personal freedom of speech.
- The people are compulsorily divided into distinct classes and treated at different levels politically, economically and socially.
- Enforced struggle session and public humiliation against any individual.
- Illegal search and confiscation of private property.
- The call to smash the law enforcement organizations had always accompanied the entire campaign.
- Mao and his Central Cultural Revolution Group, the highest authority in the country, had always fully supported the campaign of eliminating Four Olds. They revoked the law enforcement organizations since early phase of the campaign that brought many unjust and false cases.
- The media encouraged the campaign and the call of smashing the law enforcement organizations from its beginning and had carried out continuous eulogizing reports.
I wish my thought could have been wrong but…
People who fled the communist country wrote many memoirs and relevant non-fiction books. For a century, these books have won the sympathy of Western readers and made them feel comforted and even proud. Most of such books have never brought any sense of inside crisis to readers, let alone introspection. It would obviously be warm and nice to maintain this state. Regrettably, since we settled in the United States, I have constantly felt a serious crisis threatening this great country. It comes not only from outside, but inside. I had wished my thought could be wrong, but the sense of déjà vu has grown stronger over the past 30-plus years. The crisis warnings in the sleeping America for decades have failed everywhere. Someone thus told me that Winston Churchill once said of “You can always count on Americans to do the right thing – after they’ve tried everything else.” I knew how painful such trying was, so I wished Churchill could be wrong. Perhaps it might still be better not to interrupt the sweet life of people who grow up in prosperity and leisure. However, the impact of this evil prelude is getting stronger and stronger, and time is running out…
When destiny places an objective observer in such a position, all he needs is honesty. He must treat his readers and himself honestly and face this turbulent time honestly.
